With the NBA All-Star game being held in our city, we decided to create a few of our favorite NBA stars on kicks.

Artist Maeve Peterson-Miller talks about her Stephen Curry design below.

First off, I don’t think I’ve ever made a basket in my life. I chose an image of Steph from an old Washington Post interview, because he looks a little angelic in the white shirt, smiling - he seems to be an all-around "good guy".

I read about some of his charitable works and seeing him with his kids exemplified his character to me.

Of course, I incorporated the Bridge in the background, because it's iconic for SF and I knew it would fit well to fill the horizontal space of the shoe. First, I painted clouds to complete the imagery of the bridge, but wanted something more unique. When I was researching fun facts about Curry, I learned popcorn was his fave. I knew I could upgrade the clouds into popcorn for a funkier, unexpected look that would represent Curry more personally.

You can see Maeve painting live Friday, February 16th between 10:30-4:30 PM at the Indianapolis International Airport.
